Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These terms govern use of Return OS, operated by [FOUNDER: company legal name]. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. The service
Return OS provides a hosted returns portal and dashboard for e-commerce stores. Refunds are executed through the merchant's own store and payment gateway on the merchant's explicit approval; Return OS never moves money on its own initiative and holds no merchant or shopper funds.
2. Accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for your credentials and for the stores you connect. You may not use the service to process data you have no right to process, or attempt to access other merchants' data.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our merchant of record. If a subscription lapses, paid features stop accepting new return requests after a 14-day grace period; returns already in progress are always served to completion. Subscription fees for the current billing period are non-refundable except where required by law; cancel any time and the plan runs to the end of the paid period.
4. The free plugin
The Return OS WordPress plugin is free software (GPL) and works without an account. These terms apply to the hosted service, not to standalone use of the plugin.
5. Data
Processing of your customers' personal data is governed by the Data Processing Agreement and described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Availability and liability
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Changes and termination
We may update these terms with notice; continued use after the notice period is acceptance. Either party may terminate at any time. On termination, data is handled per the retention terms in the DPA.
